Abigail Fierce - I Miss You (Official Video)

Abigail Fierce - I Miss You (Official Video)

Music Video

Music Video for LGBT indie-pop artist Abigail Fierce's song "I Miss You.” The video follows Abigail reminiscing about her first love. Every guitar riff, sound & shot was designed to elicit the feeling of longing, the indelible memories and everlasting connection we associate with first loves. Abigail Fierce is also an actress, known for Hulu’s “Love, Victor”, NBC’s “This Is Us”, and Netflix’s “American Vandal.”

“I Miss You” is definitely the most evocative music video from indie artist Abigail Fierce.

Directed by the singer-songwriter herself, the video follows Abigail
reminiscing about her first love.

“The music video showcases how much you can miss the good times with someone, even if it wasn’t the ideal situation or the best relationship. Every guitar riff, sound, and shot was designed to elicit the feeling of longing, the indelible memories, and everlasting connection we associate with first loves,” - Abigail .

The Los Angeles-based artist provides an escape from the mundane with her signature poetic, visceral, poignant lyricism and honey-toned vocals. With over 5.3 million Spotify streams under her belt, Abigail’s potential for mass appeal is palpable. Perhaps the songstress's most alluring quality is that she is unafraid to be herself.

She doesn’t seem to edit herself based on what she wants people to see, which is evident in her diverse music catalog that ranges from the melancholy folk song “I Just Wanna Feel Okay Again” to the raring pop-punk LGBTQ+ anthem “Scream It to the Whole World.”

Abigail Fierce is also an actress, she is slated to star in the upcoming horror flick "SkillHouse," produced by 50 Cent. A versatile and charming young actress, her skill also shines through in her music videos.

You can follow along with her journey @akfierce on Instagram & TikTok, and find her music on all streaming platforms, as well as on iTunes + BandCamp.

Animal Pride: Nature's Coming Out Story

Animal Pride: Nature's Coming Out Story

Documentary
LA premiere

In the feature documentary Animal Pride: Nature’s Coming Out Story, Queer naturalist Connel Bradwell challenges mainstream biology’s blindspot for queer animal behavior in nature. Schooled in the birds and the bees, survival of the fittest, The Origin of Species, Connel sees the disconnect - how can humans be Queer, while animals supposedly aren’t?

After observing same-sex behavior in orcas, Connel embarks on a journey to unveil nature’s true diversity of gender expression and sexuality. Fueled by his love for the natural world, Connel discovers the science behind same-sex parenting in seabirds, hermaphrodite slugs, and the hidden history of same-sex penguin behavior. Not your typical wildlife documentary, Animal Pride celebrates diversity and presents a riotous rebellion against stereotypes.

It also has the capacity to fundamentally shift how we see the natural world, and our place within it. We’ve all heard the rhetoric - that being queer isn’t natural. Connel’s irreverent approach takes a wrecking ball to the ivory tower of heteronormative science, demanding answers to why the world has been missing out on the wild, wonderful, and downright sexy side of nature. There’s no longer any doubt, Nature is queer as f**k!

Bar. Boy.

Bar. Boy.

Short Film

While having a drink alone at his local gay bar to commemorate a special event from his past, Gary (an aging but attractive man in his early sixties) attempts to spark a conversation with Julian (a handsome man in his early twenties), who is also drinking alone. At first, Julian is dismissive and seems uninterested in continuing the encounter. Meanwhile, Gary keeps spotting another handsome young man watching him from across the room. Will Gary gain a new friend in Julian? Will Julian see beyond Gary’s age and find any commonalities in their life experience as gay men? And who is this other handsome man that only Gary seems to be seeing haunting the bar? Touching on issues of aging specific to gay men who survived the AIDS crisis, "Bar. Boy." raises questions concerning the divide between generations in the gay community and if that gap can be breached.

With pulsating synths and old-school R&B melodies, the song evokes the spirit of an all too fleeting moment marked by designer jumpsuits, scratchy guitars, and new wave attitude.

Good Luck, Babe! a dance concept film

Music Video
World Premiere

"Good Luck, Babe!" is a dance visual encompassing a closeted queer experience and the weight of missed opportunities. It follows the connection between two women, one of which is in stubborn denial about the feelings they're experiencing, while the other is open and outright about her yearning. The dancers in the film transform from a fun, supportive ensemble into a physical manifestation of the guilt that comes with missing the opportunity for connection. The film lives in a glamorous, slightly retro prom setting, and is set to Chappell Roan's song "Good Luck, Babe!".

Loud Love

Loud Love

Documentary

Following a seven-year long surrogacy process, gay deaf couple Alan and Brian finally brought their hearing twin babies home from India to New York. However, their journey through fatherhood meets new challenges when the increasingly rambunctious kids start screaming "you don't understand me" at them. "LOUD Love" is their story, a documentary about parenting, growth and its occasional hurdles.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

On May 2, 2015, I started following deaf gay couple Alan and Brian after learning ASL for only a few months (at Sign Language Center - a local school they owned and ran). The first personal event I filmed was their hearing twin children Seth and Sela’s 4th birthday party. It was hectic, loud, very very loud, and full of love. I was inspired - “This is the story I want to tell - two struggling dads try to have it all but something is always out of control.”

Over the next three years of production, I followed their business and social life as a fly on the wall. I witnessed the growth of the kids as they adapted to the unique life experience of being hearing CODAs and also watched Alan and Brian blossom as parents. I echoed their joys and frustrations, their love and its hurdles. The next six years was grueling. Rounds and rounds of editing, fundraising and networking; career and life milestones; births and deaths. At times I wondered if I would ever release the film. Upon becoming a father of two kids myself, Alan and Brian’s seemingly unusual family tale turned immensely relatable. It’s not just their language I understand; it’s the fatherhood.

I hope my film “Loud Love” can demystify how deaf people live their lives. The popular metaphor of using “silence” to describe the deaf only has explanatory power for the hearing. Their lives are far from silent but very loudly click, buzz, pop and roar, and the fundamental basis of communication is not sound, but connection. I also wish to challenge the very limiting norms of parenting—how other parents of different races, sexualities or cultural backgrounds, or with disabilities, SHOULD teach, discipline and love their children. It’s the myth of the “normal family,” so linear and absolute, that should be questioned and re-invented so that the society as a whole can recognize many types of personhood and parenthood. As a first-generation-immigrant gay dad of two young toddlers, I feel more and more drawn to this project, as I want to know: how does a child facing the burdens and shame imposed by societal norms, embrace a culture that is too often presented as “inferior”? And, from the viewpoint of the parent, pained by guilt and often inflexible unforgiving mainstream standards, how do you persistently love? I think we all share that, in one way or another.

P.S. Alan passed away suddenly in 2023. I wish he could watch the completed film at one of the screenings with his family he loved so dearly - wearing a shiny outfit and criticizing every on-camera “performance.” He would laugh and cry, so heartfelt, so lively, with his loud family, his devoted friends, and the Deaf community he and Brian helped build and foster.

The short film stars BIFA award-winning Dave Johns, Jessica Ellerby and Carey Thring and follows Ted who is diagnosed with a hereditary illness. However, being a celebrated drag queen, paired with the bitter feelings Cassandra harbours over their past, presents a larger obstacle for Ted to overcome. Making Up explores how much, and how little, has changed in terms of attitudes towards the LGBTQIA+ community since that era, and the resulting friction that impacts those of that community.

While Courtney grapples with her disease and the sudden unraveling of their future, Alaina tries to salvage the promise of their new life together and reaffirm their unwavering love by transforming their humble apartment into their romantic honeymoon trip.

Director's Statement: Alaina and Courtney are a creative dynamic duo who are making queer content for our community to devour in delight. For this 48-hour film project, we randomly selected Romance for our genre. We decided we wanted to flip the expectations of this genre on its head -- instead of creating a short with meet-cutes and whimsy, we wanted to show how romance could survive in a long-term relationship going through a devastating time. In line with our mission, Right Where We Need To Be features a lesbian couple (surprise: it's us), but the story does not center on their queerness. This is by design to create stories that humanize queer characters and relationships through basic human narratives within "ordinary" contexts. Originally written, filmed, and edited for the 48Hour Film Festival - Wisconsin and winner of the "Best Use of Character" Award this film is full of promise and sure to make you laugh and cry.

What begins as a job documenting the influencer’s comeback spirals into mayhem as Nicole must confront the very real danger behind their oh-so aesthetic façade.

The Visitor

The Visitor

Short

With his relationship in a rough patch and his career stalled, A man tries to find new purpose by retreating to the Pacific Northwest. While there, strange things begin to happen as he grapples with his sense of reality.

Director: Nikolaus Aldrich
Producers: Dylan Gansen, Nikolaus Aldrich
Writer: Nikolaus Aldrich
Cast: John Glowacki, Ethan Cockrill, Ronald Román-Meléndez, Andrew Scott Miller
Cinematographer: James Arterberry
Editor: Nikolaus Aldrich

Details: The Visitor was conceived as a proof of concept for a feature film. The short film covers what would be the inciting incident of said feature. Writer/Director Nikolaus Aldrich wrote the short film to be an introduction to a larger story but still work as a standalone piece. We are looking for any help in making this feature into a reality. While this film straddles many genres (like sci-fi/horror) the heart of the story is a queer relationship. Both in the short and the proposed feature our main characters are grappling with their connection to each other while being confronted with a much larger, existential threat. The question is whether that will bring them together or tear them apart.

Two Chains

Two Chains

Short narrative
World Premiere

July 4th, 1976. Two Chicago cops and longtime friends confront an unresolved issue that has smoldered between them for too long after one of them was fired from the force.

Director: Bill Pruitt
Producers: Hannah Liu, Paul Hewitt
Writer: Paul Hewitt
Cast: Paul Hewitt, Chip O’Neil
Cinematographer: Per Larsson
Editor: Natalie DeDiego

Two Chain’s story origin grew out of our teenager’s coming out experience, last year. The ease with which a lot of people in their generation can now come out is incredible and to be celebrated. But I wanted to show them and their peers that not so long ago coming out was very different - often secretive, shamed, and dangerous - so that they can know, appreciate and honor those that paved the way for them.
