volume 7

volume 7

Volume 7

Los Angeles Premiere

The future is just another past.
In the isolated City-Building 7, where human knowledge is preserved in the minds of the gifted, a young man reappears again and again, confronting love, rebellion, and the elusive promise of escape. A woman becomes the mirror of this repetition, keeping alive the fragile hope that something might finally change.
Volume 7 is an existential science fiction film about time; not as a straight line, but as a closed loop of memory, identity, and failed revolutions. At its centre is the City-Building: isolated, decaying, yet obsessed with maintaining order and the illusion of a higher purpose. The film explores the idea that rebellion, like love, may be an inevitable illusion: beautiful, tragic, and futile. And amid it all, there is humour; sometimes your grand escape plan is made of bland, edible rope. This film doesn’t promise solutions. Like memory, it flickers. Like history, it repeats in a slightly altered form. And like life itself, it remains ambiguous.
