We filmed Manifest in a giant historic church in Wisconsin over 2 days with a tiny crew. The church, now called The Castle Beloit, has a long history of paranormal activity too, so we made sure to film in the rooms we heard stories from. Once we were done filming, I travelled over a long weekend through Wisconsin and stayed in haunted hotels to edit the film, staying in the actual rooms with reports. It’s a fun fact that I’m able to tell people when we’ve been showing at film festivals. There are also many layers in the sound design with frequencies and sounds to make you feel uncomfortable. I wanted the film to have a “feel” to it.

Mountain King

Feature
World Premiere

In the highlands of Scandinavia, where folklore and reality converge, Hannah travels to surprise her boyfriend, Gregor, over the holidays. Meeting her partner’s family was always going to be awkward, but her Christmas turns into one of bizarre rituals, pagan feasts, and some uncomfortable conversations regarding her feelings on commitment. Hannah begins to suspect that the woods are full of monsters older than humanity, and Gregor’s family full of secrets older still. As the night grows colder, Hannah and Gregor must keep their relationship together and return to civilization … or else become one with the woods forever. A rom-com set against the backdrop of a horror film, MOUNTAIN KING is a genre-bending exploration of love, monsters, and what it means to become part of someone else’s family.
